Implementation Process for Season 2010/11

The ability for any potential individual member of the ETTA to sign up and pay their ETTA fees online for season 2010/2011 membership will be available from 11th July 2010, via the ETTA website www.etta.co.uk/membership

Player Member

The proposed fees to be agreed at the ETTA AGM are £5.64 –seniors, £2.82 for cadets and juniors. This includes an element for Civil Liability Insurance.

1. Local League Player – you can complete a membership form on-line and pay on-line. You will receive email confirmation of your membership number immediately the payment is processed. However, you may prefer to be issued with a membership form via your club and league, which must be completed and returned to league with your payment. Forms will be sent by email if the ETTA holds your email address otherwise they will be sent to your league for distribution. Alternatively, blank forms can be downloaded from the ETTA website. Forms will be pre-printed with your details if your club and/or league have made an Individual Registration return for season 2009/10. The completed form should be returned to your club/league with payment. If you obtain your membership number online, you will need to notify this number to your club and/or league.

2. Multiple League Player – you are encouraged to complete a Membership Form on-line and pay on-line. You will receive email confirmation of your membership number immediately the payment is processed. You will also nominate one league (your primary league) which will receive your membership card for you. Alternatively, you can complete a paper (hard copy) membership form and nominate and pay your primary league. You must inform your second and subsequent leagues of your ETTA membership number, when you have it.

The Individual Membership Registration form is now available on the ETTA website.

The Membership Committee has been tasked by the ETTA Directors to develop proposals for a system of Individual Membership. Debate on this issue has been ongoing for many years but it has become more important in recent years.... ( full article ) News_D200410A.htm

Derby & District Management Committee have, over the past months, worked with Derby Sports & Leisure to run Schools events at Chellaston School for both teams and individuals.

These events were highly successful, enjoyed by both Staff and Pupils and this success has brought requests for help to develop Table Tennis at their respective Schools.

AFTER WHICH YOU WILL WORK WITH STAFF AND PARENTS AT ONE OF THE SCHOOLS REQUESTING HELP

Players are reminded that where a club or team play their home matches in a school, matches are scheduled to start at 19:00, and that the premises must be vacated by 22:00. This means that home team should ensure that everything is in place for a 19:00 start, and that the away team has at least one player there for a prompt start. The reality is, even if teams arrive at 19:10, by the time they have 'knocked up', it's very unlikely that the match will start before 19:20. As venues for playing table tennis are becoming more scarce, we don't want to get on the wrong side of the schools that are currently allowing us to use their premises. Three people to take over as co organiser’s of the Derby 4 Star Junior Tournament.

the number one National Junior Table Tennis Tournament in the UK is held at

It has been proudly hosted by Derby & District Table Tennis Association for over 25 years.
The current Organiser’s have been doing the business for over 10 years and need to step down. Unless we can find new organiser’s, this prestige Tournament will not continue in 2011.
Work with Brian, Rob and Paul in the weeks up to 2010 who will also give guidance and help for 2011.

In an attempt to keep players informed, I have added a 'View Match Cards' link. This can be accessed from the 'Match Results' page.

To keep an accurate record of postponed or cancelled matches, I am requesting that the captain of the HOME team reports all postponed / cancelled matches to me ( via email aubrey.henry@btinternet.com or phone ). Please use this format : 1) Match between. 2) Scheduled week. 3) Which team requested the postponement / cancellation. I'll then update the 'Postponed' matches page, which can be viewed by all.
